Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, program, and implement automation solutions for special-purpose machinery and industrial systems, with a strong focus on PLC programming and industrial robotics. The role spans the full project lifecycle — from concept development through commissioning at customer sites, both in Austria and abroad.

Start & Availability
Start would be requested as soon as possible. Initially, the role requires on-site presence in Regau; later, a hybrid split (approx. 50% remote / 50% on-site) would be possible.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and refining automation concepts for special-purpose machinery and industrial equipment
  • Programming PLCs and developing associated HMI/visualization systems (Siemens/B&R)
  • Building and implementing advanced automation solutions incorporating industrial robotics
  • Collaborating within project teams throughout the full lifecycle, from initial concept to on-site deployment at customer facilities
  • Commissioning, fine-tuning, and troubleshooting machinery and systems for both domestic and international clients

Requirements

  • A completed technical qualification (HTL, university of applied sciences, or comparable) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or Automation Engineering
  • Hands-on experience with PLC programming tools such as Siemens TIA Portal, Simatic Step7, Sinamics, and WinCC Flexible/Unified
  • Familiarity with programming industrial robots (e.g., ABB, Fanuc, KUKA) considered a plus
  • Strong command of English, both written and spoken
  • Openness to business travel
